Exploring our connection to food.
Our story starts long before we dreamed to open a Market. Before we started Dumont Farms we attended a livestock auction. It was a weekend when our son Noah got to pick an activity that the whole family would do. We did not have any farm animals and had never been to an auction before. But we went. It was hot and uncomfortable, but by the end of the day Noah owned 7 ducks. It was downhill from there. Soon we would start Dumont Farms here in Loudon and find our niche in the local market. Over the last few years our business has grown and demand for our sustainable meats has exploded. We started to think about a store when customers would approach us asking if we had a farm stand they could shop at. The answer was always no, but we started to offer our products online as an alternative. Then we started thinking, what would it take to have a farm stand? That evolved into a farm store and that is when we decided we wanted to open Pasture2plate Market. We realized that access to healthy, local food was lacking. The local farmers markets have been a great start for us meeting customers but they are not always convenient and thus the Pasture2plate Market was born.
